About us

C. Steinweg Oman LLC (CSO) was established in Oman early 2004 and was awarded the concession for all dry-bulk, break-bulk, RoRo and container stuffing and stripping related operations in the Port of Sohar. In April 2004, the first ship was handled at the Sohar port, and the CSO multipurpose terminal has been operating and developing successfully ever since.

The CSO terminal handles industrial project cargoes, among which many heavy lifts, automotive cargoes, a variety of break-bulk cargoes and dry-bulk cargoes. Furthermore, CSO has established a Container Freight Station (CFS)  service and is responsible for all stuffing and stripping requirements inside the Port of Sohar. CSO is a total logistic service provider that pro-actively thinks and acts together with the customer to find an effective and efficient solution to cargo handling, storage and delivery. We have built up a profound experience in operations under challenging circumstances, such as time constraints and weather conditions, and focus on continually improving our quality of products. We do so by investing in equipment and training of local work force.

The migration process of general and automotive cargoes from port Sultan Qaboos to the CSO terminal in 2014 proved that we are a flexible operator, capable to meet market demands under challenging and fast growing circumstances.
CSO can furthermore rely on its extensive global in-house expertise and support.

CSO is ideally positioned outside the Strait of Hormuz in the heart of Sohar Port and Freezone, close to the booming economies of the Gulf area. This strategic position makes CSO the perfect gateway for the global trade routes between Oman and the GCC countries, Europe and Asia. It’s in the heart of fast growing Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat and Sohar, as well as the fast growing hinterland where industrial and economic investments are currently at record highs.
